Ody may collect and process the following information:
- Email address for authentication and account management
- Workout and fitness data, including exercises, activity logs, calories, steps, and activity metrics
- Body composition and progress tracking data, including weight, height, age, and sex
- Photos uploaded for AI-powered food analysis or body composition scans
- Basic usage analytics and crash diagnostics used to improve app stability and performance
Health & Fitness Data
If you choose to connect Apple HealthKit or other supported health platforms, Ody may access fitness and activity-related information such as workouts, calories, activity, and step data in order to provide tracking, analytics, and personalised fitness insights.
Health and fitness data is never sold or used for advertising purposes.
AI Features & Third-Party AI Processing
Ody uses AI-powered features to analyse food images and body progress photos in order to generate nutritional insights and estimated body composition metrics.
To power these features, the following data is sent to OpenAI (OpenAI, L.L.C.) for processing:
- AI Food Scan: the food photo you take or upload, along with the meal description you provide
- AI Body Scan: the front and side photos you take, along with your body measurements (weight, height, age, and sex)
This data is transmitted solely to generate your requested results. OpenAI does not use data submitted via the API to train its models, and does not retain it beyond completing the request, in accordance with OpenAI's Privacy Policy . OpenAI provides a level of data protection equivalent to or greater than the protections described in this policy.
The app will ask for your permission before sending any personal data to OpenAI. You may decline, in which case the AI features will not be available.
AI-generated insights are estimates only and are not intended to replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide and maintain the Ody app and its features
- Enable secure authentication and account management
- Process AI-powered food and body scan features
- Improve app functionality, performance, stability, and overall user experience
- Monitor analytics and diagnose technical issues
Data Storage & Security
Data is securely stored using trusted third-party cloud service providers.
We implement reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to help protect user information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or disclosure.
Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent personal information.
Data may be processed by trusted third-party service providers strictly necessary for app functionality, including:
- Firebase (Google LLC) — authentication, cloud storage, and database services
- OpenAI (OpenAI, L.L.C.) — AI processing of food photos and body scan images. Data is used solely to fulfil your request and is not used to train OpenAI models. See OpenAI's Privacy Policy .
- Analytics and crash reporting tools used to improve app stability
Data Retention
We retain user data only for as long as necessary to provide app functionality and comply with legal obligations.
Users may request deletion of their account and associated data at any time.
Where supported, users may also delete their account directly within the app.
